What is stored, and where

On your Mac: settings, sessions and materials, in plain files under your own user account. No telemetry. The one secret there is the device token from signing in, and it now lives in that same settings file — marked, not encrypted, and protected only by the file’s own 0600 permissions rather than the Keychain.
On our side, operational metadata records model, timing, byte and token counts without the words or pixels. If you explicitly opt in under Account, encrypted prompts, answers and attached screenshots may also be kept for support, abuse, reliability and model-quality investigation for at most 30 days. Only authorised staff who recently reauthenticated may reveal them, and every access is logged. Withdrawing consent immediately stops new capture and schedules existing content for scrubbing; deleting your account removes account-bound content. Separately, Back up calls stores the transcript, answers, note and added materials until your own retention setting removes them. Audio is always transcribed and discarded, never stored.
